Case Study Description
Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal is recognized as China’s first fully automated terminal, where automated stacking cranes (ASC), manufactured by ZPMC, have been in continuous operation since their initial deployment in 2010. In the early years, these ASC systems utilized medium-voltage reel cables produced in Europe. After nearly a decade of operation, the terminal progressively transitioned to Hebei-Huatong’s gantry reel medium-voltage cable solutions.Since 2021, the RNEDAFLEX-FO 6/10 kV series supplied by Hebei-Huatong has been installed on ASC cranes running at speeds up to 270 m/min. The cable demonstrates exceptional stability, flex fatigue resistance, and optical-fiber reliability, ensuring that the automated stacking cranes continue to operate with the same efficiency and precision as when they were first commissioned. This performance delivers strong technical assurance for the terminal’s high-density, high-throughput automated yard operations.
